When students enter UPA Mark Murray Elementary School they are placed in a class with a highly qualified teacher and 20 to 22 other students. Small class sizes enable teachers to get to know each student and their families well to maximize opportunities for learning. Students, parents, and teachers build strong, collaborative relationships that are used to accelerate the development of every individual student. Students develop strong bonds with their teacher and peers, and everyone is deeply involved in learning from day one.
Our students receive instruction in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, and Science in their classroom groupings. They also spend one hour each day in AMPT (Art, Music, Physical Education, and Technology) classes. These classes are taught by highly qualified teachers who specialize in these areas.
At UPA Mark Murray, students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities early on in their academic career. The following are offered as extracurricular activities at University Prep Elementary School’s Mark Murray campus:
Learn more about the attendance and tardiness policies enforced at UPA Mark Murray. Maintaining regular and timely school attendance is critical to academic achievement and school success. The charts below outline parent and staff/advisor responsibilities regarding student attendance and tardiness.
School begins promptly at 8:30A.M. It is imperative that all students arrive to school on time for optimal learning. When students are late, they miss instruction, which affects academic achievement. In addition the morning lessons are disrupted for all and routines cannot be established. This is also consistent with removing your student early from school.
